Vintage Charm

I love my little kitchen, cosy and quaint.  I love using old fashioned kitchen gadgets, vintage bowls and dishes, vintage linens, all things from days gone by.

Today, I am sharing my favorite vintage bowl set.  They are the Pyrex Ware Color Bowl Set, very old, vintage, antique and charming.  I love using them most every day as I plan and prepare our meals.  I love the primary colors.  They are a bit faded from many years of use.

I wish that I could say that mine are a family heirloom.  They are not.  My hubby bought mine from an estate sale in our town a few years ago.  They do have a lovely history.  They belonged to a hometown family.  We went to School with their children and we went to Sunday School and to Church together when we were growing up.  There are many memories as I use them in my kitchen.

We also found this Pyrex Ware Refrigerator Set at an antique shop during one of our out and about days.  They had a lot of tender loving care before they became a treasure in my kitchen.  I use these often as well.

I think of those who were keepers of their homes, oh, how they must have loved the pretty colors to brighten their kitchens and to use and nourish their families so many years ago.

  1. I love your antique kitchenware, Teri! They are so bright and pretty. I have some old fiestaware bowls that were my grandmothers. I never knew her though. Mom used the smallest one of them to whip whipping cream in for our pies at Thanksgiving. Now I do the same and think of those 2 ladies who aren't with us anymore. Thanks for the memories. Have a lovely day.
    God bless, Kathy

  2. My mom had a full set of the pyrex bowls in aqua. Growing up I can remember everything from pudding to stuffing being made in those bowls. I have no idea where they went to when we sold my mom's house, but the sight of yours brings back warm and cozy memories....

  4. Your Pyrex Ware is beautiful! I had the green mixing bowl...given to me by a family friend. One day I was picking it up and it slipped right out of my hands and broke in many pieces. I actually cried. I was having a bad day with my fibromyalgia and didn't realize how it had affected my hands that day until I dropped the bowl.

  5. Oh, I remember these sets. No plastic or throw away, just good old glass. I like the faded look.
Please pass the candy dish. I enjoy Kisses!

  7. I love your vintage Pyrex! I have a few vintage Pyrex that I use, but I don't have the mixing bowl set. The ones I have are a bit faded also. I think that just gives them a charm. Hugs to you! Juli

  8. My mother had a set of the Pyrex bowls, exactly like yours. I have such fond memories of helping her in the kitchen and washing those bowls. They're so pretty. I like your refrigerator set, too. Actually, they're so much better for storing food than plastic! Thanks for sharing, Teri. Hugs, Nancy

  9. Hi Teri, I love your sweet collection of time-worn treasures! I have the very same mixing bowls that I gathered one by one. I just found the last piece - the red bowl - last year. I love the refrigerator set and they all look so charming together. Like you, I often wonder about the women who used these everyday things in their kitchens and what their days were like. Sending hugs xo Karen

  10. I was so excited to see the Pyrex Ware Refrigerator Set, Teri! I have one exactly like it, inherited from my grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and never needed fancy ingredients to make the yummiest dishes.

  11. Your dishes bring back fond memories of my dear grandmothers kitchen. She was such a fun loving lady in every aspect of life. Joy was her life no matter what she may have been going through.
I was blessed to receive her cook book filled with hand written recipes she prepared over many years and in those Pyrex ware colorful dishes.

What a delightful post you have shared with us, thank you!

Have a blessed and glorious weekend~

  12. Good Morning, Teri. I hope you both will have a delightful and cosy weekend. My mom had this same set of bowls. The large yellow bowl was always used to prepare potato salad for family gatherings.

  13. Always such a joy to visit your contented little vintage place! I love your Color Ware bowls. I don't have any, and have looked at antique stores, but have not found any. I think your bowls are now family history, with all the sweet loving meals and memories you have made with them! Have a lovely weekend :)

  14. So pretty! I look for vintage Pyrex but most of the time it is priced way over my budget!

    Grace & Peace,
